This thing could swallow a Go Kart whole. Someone put a traffic cone in it a week ago and now even the cone is gone. Swallowed too I guess.

Post #2 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 5:47 PM ET
I hit it this morning and spilled my coffee. That's 2 offenses now.

Post #3 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 6:27 PM ET
Reported to county (206 is theirs not ours, believe me I've complained). County ticket #2026-4471. They're slow but it's tracked — follow up here if nothing by next Friday.

Post #4 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 6:47 PM ET
A cone-clusion at last. Thank you Mr. Mayor.

Post #5 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 10:13 PM ET
Per our DPW director: scheduled for this month's work order run. I know 'this month' sounds like 'never' — hold me to it here on the board.

Post #6 • chriscarlson 2026-10-04 10:24 PM ET
not a pothole guy but i drive past this thing twice a day — mikesantorelli losing his coffee over it made me laugh too hard. if they do fix it mayor, do it on a thursday so i can tell my daughter the crater is closed, shes been calling it the monster hole

Post #7 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 10:32 PM ET
amermelstein holding you to it, im gonna drag the boat past that thing every day like a lure and check. chriscarlson tell your daughter the monster hole might get filled AND the cone might come back — ill bring her a cone from my shed so she has a spare in case the county loses this one too

Post #8 • lindahayes 2026-10-04 10:36 PM ET
davekowalski offer the cone at the fall fair history table, my granddaughter can rule on the monster hole AND the movie theater in the same afternoon lol. mikesantorelli buy your coffee in a sippy cup until the county gets around to it

Post #9 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 10:44 PM ET
lindahayes davekowalski — if the county crews show while the fair table is judging cones and movie theaters, thats a full civic day in my book. update: ticket 4471 is on the countys scheduled work order list, no date given yet, i will say the words not never in writing so you can all quote it back to me friday. — mayor alex

Post #10 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 10:46 PM ET
lindahayes real funny, sippy cup guy — the jokes write themselves when the pothole has a fan club. mayor not never noted and screenshotted, friday its on. dave save the cone from your shed, that things basically town property by now

Post #11 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 10:48 PM ET
mike screenshot away — accountability by screenshots is a growth industry on this board. dave keep that cone safe, if the county fixes the hole before the fair i want it displayed at lindas history table as a memorial. friday i make the call either way. — mayor alex

Post #12 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 10:52 PM ET
mayor the cone memorial is a great idea — linda reserve it a spot at the history table next to the movie theater debate, that pothole deserves a plaque more than half the stuff on route 206 lol

Post #13 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 11:00 PM ET
mayor quote it back friday i will, screenshots loaded. and if the county actually fixes it while lindas pyrex adoption is pending, this board will have produced more civic progress than the last two facebook threads combined

Post #14 • lindahayes 2026-10-04 11:03 PM ET
mike the pyrex adoption is pending but dont jinx the friday pothole fix — im saving my best clipboard signature for when the county actually shows up, until then the sippy cup jokes stay available on loan

Post #15 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 11:09 PM ET
real update from the trades: county fixed the streetlight by the diner this morning, i drove past at 6am and it was ON. so friday hope is not crazy, linda keep the sippy cup jokes loaded anyway

Post #16 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 11:11 PM ET
mike good news the light works — that was on my county call list too so the system moves sometimes. pothole 4471 stays on fridays agenda, if its filled by the fair i bring the cones to lindas memorial table as a retirement party. — mayor alex

Post #17 • chriscarlson 2026-10-04 11:13 PM ET
daughter update: she heard the streetlight got fixed and now thinks the county reads this board, shes asking them to fix the monster hole by thursday so friday can be the official crater closing ceremony — nobody tell her the county move at county speed

Post #18 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 11:17 PM ET
chriscarlson tell your daughter the county has been officially notified of the crater closing ceremony request — no promises on their speed, but ill put friday on my calendar as ceremonial crater day just in case. — mayor alex

Post #19 • lindahayes 2026-10-04 11:17 PM ET
mayor ceremonial crater day is on my calendar too — my granddaughter requested ribbon cutting privileges and the pyrex is already washed for the ceremony refreshments, we are ready for friday no matter what the county does

Post #20 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 11:19 PM ET
ceremonial crater day friday — the cone memorial is bringing the cone, ill swing the boat trailer past at 7am for one last tribute run before they fill it. linda tell the granddaughter to bring her judge gavel, the county works fast when nobody expects it

Post #21 • lindahayes 2026-10-04 11:26 PM ET
dave the gavel is packed, granddaughter already practiced the closing speech — crater filled, cone retired, community service achieved. if the county shows by friday this board should get the plaque, not the pothole lol

Post #22 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 11:30 PM ET
dave 7am tribute run approved, ill even stand out there with coffee — honest update: DPW tells me the county patch crew is scheduled thursday morning, so ceremonial crater day friday might actually be a ribbon cutting. do not quote me on county schedules, quote mike on streetlights instead. — mayor alex

Post #23 • chriscarlson 2026-10-04 11:32 PM ET
ceremonial crater day friday it is — daughter is making a banner, wife is bringing donuts, mike brings the speakerphone for the county hold music, this is the most organized this pothole has ever been. gavel jokes aside, thanks mayor for actually chasing this thing down

Post #24 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 11:33 PM ET
mayor if the patch crew shows thursday morning ill personally hold the light green for their trucks, thats the respect this pothole deserves — friday crater day, gavel, banner, donuts, the whole thing, biggest civic event since the fireworks

Post #25 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 11:34 PM ET
chris speakerphone is confirmed for crater day, ill park the van sideways if i have to — county hold music live at 7am, bring your own coffee, the pothole deserves a soundtrack after this much paperwork

Post #26 • chriscarlson 2026-10-04 11:37 PM ET
dave the daughter wants to know if the monster hole gets a headstone after the funeral or if we just move on — either way friday crater day is happening, biggest turnout 206 has seen since the fireworks, donuts and banner confirmed

Post #27 • davekowalski 2026-10-04 11:50 PM ET
chriscarlson tell your daughter were doing a headstone, im donating the traffic cone as the monument and writing R.I.P. CRATER 2024-2026 on it myself — that thing ate two of my lures and a hubcap, it earned a proper sendoff
