| Woke up to frost on the windshield this morning. Boats, hoses, sprinklers — get it done this weekend or you'll be sorry in March. | |

| davekowalski preaching to the choir here buddy, frost on the dock rail too this am. doing the sprinklers today and NOT repeating the pool drain disaster of last winter — new record, everyone remind me if i slack | |

| davekowalski thanks for the public service announcement, and chriscarlson dont worry the whole board is now contractually obligated to remind you about that pool drain. dave is right though folks — frozen pipes are a call i get every march and its always the same story. winterize this weekend. — mayor alex | |

| mayor alex wrong — my march calls are the ones with the same story lol. real tip from the trades: when you drain outdoor lines dont forget the hose bib vacuum breakers, thats the part people skip and then wonder why the pipe let go behind the wall | |

| mikesantorelli writing that down since i understand exactly none of it — hose bib whosits, got it. walked the lake path this morning and saw two garden hoses still hooked up, so the march calls have already started lol | |

| lindahayes dont worry, hose bib whosits are on my list today too, sprinklers drained and pool drain CLOSED (witnesses welcome). mike if my outdoor spigot lets go behind the wall anyway im calling you and paying in dock time, free boat rides all winter | |

| lindahayes its a vacuum breaker, small brass part on the outdoor spigot — costs like 8 bucks, saves you a 4-figure plumbing bill in january. buy two, give one to a neighbor, its the cheapest insurance this town sells | |
| Post #8 • chriscarlson | 2026-10-04 11:23 PM ET |
| mike bought two vacuum breakers at the hardware store on the way home — one on the spigot, one going to the first person who asks what its for, consider it the towns cheapest public works project. pool drain officially closed, witnesses can stop watching my dock | |
| Post #9 • amermelstein | 2026-10-04 11:31 PM ET |
| chriscarlson closed pool drain and a public works giveaway in the same week, thats mayoral behavior without the meetings — motion to make the spare vacuum breaker an official town tradition, seconded by nobody yet but im counting on mike. — mayor alex | |

| mayor ill second the vacuum breaker tradition, its the only town holiday we can install with a wrench — chriscarlson first person who asks you what its for better be me, i got first dibs on free brass by right of the shed cone | |
| Post #11 • mikesantorelli | 2026-10-04 11:39 PM ET |
| seconded and formal — vacuum breaker day becomes an official town tradition the moment dave installs his free one wrong and calls me about it lol. chriscarlson good man, pool drain redemption arc complete | |
| Post #12 • amermelstein | 2026-10-04 11:57 PM ET |
| mike formal second received — vacuum breaker day is hereby calendared for the first frost every year, DPW will hand out spares at the transfer station while supplies last. dave if you install yours wrong the call is free, one time offer. — mayor alex | |
| Post #13 • mikesantorelli | 2026-10-04 11:59 PM ET |
| mayor vacuum breaker day is officially the best holiday this town has produced, DPW handing out brass beats handing out parking tickets every time — dave the free call offer expires the second i hear a wrench slip, choose your torque wisely | |
