The transfer station opens at 9 which is AFTER everyone's already dropped off their junk at the side of the road. Petition to open at 7am Saturdays. Who's with me?

Post #2 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 10:28 PM ET
linda — bring the petition to the october committee meeting, it's on the agenda time permitting. honest answer: earlier hours mean a second shift guy, and i won't pretend the budget has room this year. but 8am might be doable if attendance supports it. show me numbers and i'll take it seriously. — mayor alex

fine mayor alex, 8am beats 9 — i'll take the deal and you'll have your numbers: 14 signatures so far on my clipboard, more at the fall fair table. and i'm bringing the pies to the meeting regardless, consider it a bribe

lindahayes deal accepted — 14 signatures plus whatever the fall fair table produces and the 8am idea goes in the november budget work session as a real line item. and no, pies are not a bribe, theyre a conflict of interest i plan to enjoy. — mayor alex

update mr mayor — clipboard went to the fair booth signup and came back with 23 signatures, thats more than the pumpkin contest usually gets. 8am at the transfer station is basically a done deal at this point, bring the november paperwork to the meeting and ill bring the pecan one

linda 23 signatures, put me down as number 24 next time the clipboard is out — i drop a load saturday mornings and 9am used to mean standing in line with every other guy in town. 8am is the small win this board was built for

Post #7 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 11:28 PM ET
lindahayes 23 signatures is a quorum by any standard in this town — 8am saturdays goes to the november work session as a done deal with a pecan pie attached, hardest part of my job is saying no to you people, and i cant even do it today. — mayor alex

Post #8 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 11:42 PM ET
mayor says 8am is a done deal with a pecan pie attached — linda this board actually works, petition to clipboard to pecan pie to policy in under 24 hours, somebody frame this thread for town hall

Post #9 • mikesantorelli 2026-10-04 11:44 PM ET
framing the thread is on me linda — going to print it off and bring it to the next committee meeting so the record shows this board gets more done before 6am than most boards do all year. lindas clipboard, chriscarlsons daughter certificate, mikes coffee stats. full exhibit list

Post #10 • amermelstein 2026-10-04 11:55 PM ET
mike print it, ill provide the frame — and for the record the 8am transfer station pilot starts first saturday of november, six month trial then we review. linda your clipboard gets an honorary seat at the table. — mayor alex
